Meet Rod Thompson
Rod Thompson was born in Athens, GA. As a child of the 1980s, Rod spent his formidable teen years watching his parents fight to keep their heads above the poverty level, in the aftermath of divorce and economic downfall. Learning the importance of self-improvement and personal motivation, in 1999, Rod enlisted in the United States Navy, serving for almost twenty-three years on Active Duty, to include ten combatant deployments around the globe, for a combined total of more than six years abroad in defense of the United States.
In 2003, Rod was onboard USS Constellation where he felt the roar of jets launching in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, beginning the war in Iraq. Rod was later deployed in Talil, Iraq in 2006, where he conducted surveillance, intelligence gathering and troop support operations, playing a vital role in US troops pushing back the rising insurgency.

I want to personally congratulate RPV Chair Rich Anderson for his Presidential appointment to Assistant Secretary of the Air Force. Rich was a pivotal in Virginia’s shift from blue to purple, and I have no doubts that he will exceed all expectations in his new roll. Bravo Zulu!

We need mass GOP turnout for primaries. It’s the only way to select committed conservatives who have taken the time to hone their messages to appeal to solid majorities. Otherwise you end up with establishment milquetoast nominees that won’t rub anyone the wrong way but are as inspiring as a fence post! They loose!
See from folks in the Republican party, you would think you would want a robust competition not too stifle competition. Not saying that I wouldn’t vote for Winsome Sears but this smacks of the Republican Party, trying to put their thumb on the scale. I realize that I am a bad Republican not a good republican but good way to turn folks off is to fix the game. Ask Jeb Bush or Mitch McConnell how that worked out.

George Will in a WAPO article in about 2010 estimated that 12 to 14 million state government employees had a primary responsibility of administering and enforcing federal mandates. I'm reasonably certain that hasn't improved.
